Build Smart, Breathe Easier: Asthma Healthy Home Project

Millions of American people are suffering from asthma, one of the largest allergic symptoms in the world. Living with asthma, they need to give lots of concern on various triggers to their asthma. Unfortunately, triggers like allergens as well as irritants are all around us, including millions of it in our own home.

Living healthier without asthma triggers around us seems to be impossible but with the initiatives and huge efforts from great people, it could be a reality. Carter Oosterhouse from HGTV joined with Habitat for Humanity, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) and supported by Merck, has been designing and creating asthma healthy home for low income families in several metropolitan cities including Atlanta, Los Angeles and Philadelphia through Build Smart, Breather Easier project.

Those low income families are often living in the bad neighborhood where allergens and irritants triggering asthma are highly present. Through Merck long lasting commitment on community health and quality of live, this project could be launched and has been successfully affecting the lives of many families in this country.
